Lis Mendez
Born and raised in Santo Domingo, Lisbeth knows firsthand what it feels like to navigate languages, identity, and the pressure to “just speak” a language you were never taught. After learning English, French, and Haitian Creole as an adult, she became obsessed with understanding how language confidence is actually built, especially for heritage speakers.
Over the years, she developed the Caribbean Spanish Personal Training Method™, a step-by-step framework designed specifically for Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, and Cubans who grew up understanding Spanish… but never fully learned to speak it.
Since 2018, Lisbeth has helped hundreds of heritage learners reconnect with their dialect, rebuild their confidence, and finally feel at home in fast-paced Caribbean conversations, without starting from zero or feeling ashamed of their Spanish.
Her work blends linguistics, neuroscience, identity work, and culturally-rooted practice.
Her mission is simple:
